Brawsome will release a new adventure game this year for the first time in over a decade! It takes place in orbit around humanity’s newest extrasolar colony in the year 2215. A majority of the voice actors in the game are Australian as well. Andrew Goulding developed Warp Frontier remotely from his home in Melbourne, Australia, with most of the work taking place during the pandemic.
With Warp Frontier, Brawsome breaks from the laugh out loud cartoony comedy of award-winning Jolly Rover and MacGuffin’s Curse, with a more serious drama with a few puns and dad jokes. Matt Martin hand painted the 2D art for Warp Frontier, and Thomas Regin performed the soundtrack for the game. The game was inspired by realistic sci-fi such as The Expanse, and Altered Carbon.
Vincent Cassini, the hero of the Warp Frontier film, is still just a Captain in the police force he started, despite his decorated war service. Vincent is patrolling the slums of the planet Cetus when he discovers evidence of a war crime involving thousands of Cetans, including his first wife and best friend. A morally questionable character must ally with Cassini and MAC to stop an old enemy before their crimes are wiped out forever.
The game plays like a point-and-click adventure, with players solving puzzles and navigating branching narratives to manage Vince’s relationships with his family, allies, and enemies. As a result of players’ decisions during conversations and the order in which they complete tasks, thousands could lose their lives. Vince will be what his actions make him: a father, a partner, a friend, a policeman, and a savior.
